Levels
EXPLANATION
1-3 Beg I This is for dancers in the 1st through 3rd grade who have had no dance experience to one year of dance
1-3 Beg II& III This is for dancers in the 1st through 3rd grade who have had two years of dance and are continuing on their third or fourth year. This including a previously taken Kindergarten class.
Level 1A First year of dance or very little previous experience
Level 1B Dancer has had at least one to two years of previous dance. Has passed out of level 1A
Level 1C Dancers has had at least two to three years of dance and has successfully passed out of 1B
Level 2A Dancers has had a least three to four years of dance and has successfully passed out of 1C
Level 2B Dancer has had at least four to five years of dance and has successfully passed out of 2A
Level 2C Dancer has had at least five to six years of dance and has successfully passed out of 2B

The above levels can take up to one to two years for a dancer to pass. After taking 1-3 beg. I, II & III levels the dancers then starts the level 1A. If the instructor feels the dancer is not ready to move up one whole level they may take the first two to four months of the previous level or repeat the level again (in which many cases this will be a benefit to the student) and then be moved up. This is a graded system and the dancer must be able to technically perform all the material in each level to pass. Continuing in the same form(s) of dance is how the dancer will progress. The instructor will ultimately determine where the student should be.

All dancers must purchase the proper shoes from Academy of the Performing Arts.
The guideline below will help you determine the correct shoes to purchase.
